Dr. Bill Dickinson was born in Horatio on February 19, 1918. He graduated from Horatio High School and graduated from the University of Arkansas Medical School in 1944 with highest honors, also receiving the Buchanan Award, as his father had. He interned at Jefferson Hospital in Houston, Texas and also did a residency in surgery at that same hospital. He practiced in De Queen from 1948 until his death on May 30, 1977. He was active in the Dickinson Hospital and Clinic, and later served on the Board of the De Queen General Hospital.
Dr. Bill died at the age of 59 following open heart surgery.
He loved to practice medicine, loved his children, and also loved to hunt and fish.
